Gratutude for our many daily blessings and simple moments to savor.

 Savouring simple daily pleasures

Just a short post today.

Reflecting on what we get to do each day, as opposed to what we feel we have to.

It's all about a mindset. About reframing the to-dos and about creating space for your mind.

We too easily to get bogged down and preoccupied with all the myriad things we juggle and manage each day. Logistics of running a home/ family/ business as well as endeavouring to look after ourselves.

We need to truly cherish this time we have in our earth suits- these incredible bodies we have the gift of living in.

Tending to our well-being cannot be achieved without self-care. As busy people, we often allow guilt to creep in, in a culture where being as busy as possible is seen as the only route to success and positivity.

There is only so much most of us can keep piling on before we are no longer coping. Cracks appear, and essential pillars of wellbeing may weaken- sleep, diet, exercise, and rest. Even active rest- such as walking, or a craft you love, perhaps cooking or gardening or running. Whatever makes you feel nourished and energised, paired with human essential elements for a healthy , contented life.

This is not a guilty pleasure- it's a necessity to living a full, rich life of contentment and compassion.

My daily walks- getting out in nature, looking up at the sky- encompassing sun, stars or pouring rain, is protecting and strengthening my mental health and clarity. It's nourishing my soul, allowing reflections, ideas and inspirations to evolve and come to the surface. By letting myself get "lost" in nature, it helps me find myself again. Each day.

Observing what is around us, the shrubs, trees, seasonal blooms, wildlife and bird life, genuinely focusing on these beauties and treasures, savouring the moments and feeling pure, deep gratitude.

Gratitude and mindfulness are muscle that requires exercising just as any other muscle in order to strengthen them and grow.

Try starting your day tomorrow, after hopefully a deep and restorative sleep, with no expectations, only intentions.

No demands on yourself or others, just a heartfelt and genuine intention of how you wish the day to unfold, how you want to show up, how you would like to feel and make others feel, and notice all the tiny details and moments that make life so incredibly precious and magical.

A Weekend day is the perfect opportunity to try this out, so, early on this chilly morning where winter appears to have finally made an appearance around these parts, I'm sipping hot lemon water as the cold day outside my windows lightens.

Find and savour as many little moments as you can- the woodsmoke in pockets in the valley, the first sip of coffee, the deep purr of a warm kitty, fresh sheets on the bed, a fresh bloom.  I promise, the more you tune in and start to feel genuine gratitude, slow down just a fraction and savour this preciouisness, you will notice more and more. It will become a natural and welcome habit.
